Who We Are
The Green Book of Tampa Bay’s activities enrich the artistic, cultural, economic, and social fabric of Tampa Bay. Our annual art shows, such as the Black Art Gala at the Straz Center for the Arts (going on its 4th year), the Annual Artist Exhibit at Studio@620 (going on its 6th year), and the Artist Residency Program Exhibit (going on its 3rd year), provide a high-visibility platform for Black artists in our community, offering residents and visitors alike an opportunity to engage with the creative expression of Tampa Bay’s Black cultural producers. These exhibits are inclusive experiences that invite community participation, foster dialogue, and deepen cultural understanding. In addition to uplifting artists, our programming attracts visitors who are seeking meaningful cultural experiences in Tampa Bay, supporting the local economy through increased foot traffic to businesses, restaurants, and venues. The event also contributes to Tampa Bay’s reputation as a hub for the arts. We provide exposure for both emerging and established artists, many of whom are based in or around Tampa Bay, and connect them with buyers, collaborators, and potential patrons, all while strengthening the city’s commitment to access to arts and culture. We also have an Artist Residency Program housed in the Warehouse Arts District in St. Petersburg that supports local artists in not only experiencing having access to studio space, but also in working with a mentor artist and participating in an art exhibit.
