Past Grant Making Efforts
The Green Book of Tampa Bay believes in grant making which is possible from the support of community members and local foundations. See below for past grant making efforts we are proud of in order to support Black owned businesses in Tampa Bay!
2024 Artist Residency
When our artist residency ended in 2024, we were able to give the participating artists a small grant. This was possible through a grant from Creative Pinellas.
2023-2025 Mural Artist Grant
Our Annual Artist Exhibit at Studio@620 happens every summer. This exhibit features artists listed in our directory. As a part of the exhibit, we featured two muralists Wayward Walls and Zulu Painter. Through a grant from the Gobioff Foundation, we are able to pay these two artists for their time making the mural since they would not be able to sell their work like the other featured artists.
Kennedy-Harper Small Business Grant
In April 2023, this grant was for small business listed in the Green Book of Tampa Bay. We supported six business owners with this unrestricted grant. This grant was sponsored by Kelly Kennedy and Niles Harper.
2022 Anthology of Voices Grant
In June 2022, we had our 2nd Annual Artist Exhibit at Studio@620. This exhibit features artists listed in our Black-owned business directory. As a part of this exhibit, we had an opening night for the artists as well as a different event that honored local artists whose instruments were their voices. During this event called An Anthology of Voices, we were able to grant these 8 performers a $500 unrestricted grant to continue their work. This grant was sponsored by the Gobioff Foundation.
2020 Website Grant
In the summer of 2020 during a COVID-19 pandemic and the unrest of protests, we were able to grant businesses listed in the Green Book of Tampa Bay who did NOT currently have a website a website. Some business owners also received graphic design services through this grant. They also got 3 years of web hosting from the Green Book of Tampa Bay. 52 Black owned businesses in Tampa Bay were able to get a website through this grant! This grant was sponsored by the Venture Philanthropy Fund of Pinellas Community Foundation and in partnership with Deuces Live and One Community #InThisTogether.
