It is organized by the Black Art Gala Foundation and the Green Book of Tampa Bay. The Artist Village serves as a vibrant space where artists can showcase and sell their work, engage with attendees, and be part of an inspiring collective experience.

This MOU outlines the terms and expectations for artists participating in the Artist Village at the 2026 Black Art Gala, hosted by the Black Art Gala Foundation and the Green Book of Tampa Bay. The goal is to ensure a smooth, professional, and inspiring experience for all artists and attendees. Artist Commitments: By signing this MOU, the artist agrees to the following: Participation: The artist agrees to showcase their original artwork at the Black Art Gala on January 18, 2026 at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts. Setup & Breakdown: Artwork must be set up between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on the day of the event. Artists may not begin taking down their work until after 11:15 PM. Presence Requirement: Artists must be present during the Artist Village portion of the event and remain near their artwork from 5:30 PM to 11:15 PM to engage with attendees and represent their work. Sales & Transactions: Artists are permitted to sell their work during the event. Artists are responsible for managing their own sales, pricing, and any applicable taxes. As such, artists must make their own name/price cards for their art. Display Materials: Artists are responsible for bringing any display easels, signage, etc. needed for their exhibit unless otherwise discussed in advance. Professional Conduct: Artists agree to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner throughout the duration of the event, including being near their art from 6-8PM to allow for the sale of their art. Promotion: Artists may be featured in event promotions leading up to the event. Artists agree to make a good faith effort to market the event leading up to the date. Artists consent to the Black Art Gala Foundation and the Green Book of Tampa Bay using photos and videos of them and their work in marketing materials in perpetuity. In exchange, the Black Art Gala Foundation and the Green Book of Tampa Bay agree to: -Provide a designated space within the Artist Village for each participating artist. -Promote the event and participating artists through various media platforms. -Offer logistical support and communication before and during the event.
